I have been, and continue to be, an enormous consumer of BBC news and documentaries. Like Verve Records, like Buffalo Trace Distillery, you can't go wrong with BBC. For me, standing outside BBC headquarters was like going to the Vatican.

London's architecture wows. Sometimes on a grand scale, sometimes with crazy detail only appreciated from close up.

Julie guides us to Carnaby Street and tells me that this was once the go-to spot for Teddy Boys, Mods and the Two-Tone Ska crowd. Here, they shopped for peg-legged trousers and chunky shoes know as brothel creepers.

London's SOHO neighborhood, once a bohemian enclave and drinking destination, seems super tony now. Not that I'm complaining — I thought SOHO was lovely, but living here would surely break the bank.

Even the tiny alleys and lanes of SOHO seemed posh.

This natty security guy, outside the uber-posh Burlington Arcade, mistook me for someone of financial means and invited me in. I assured him, my limited dispensable pounds were slated for alcohol, which broke his facade and produced a smile.

Here is a Peter dream home. A modern curiosity of a building, nestled amongst a number of earlier-period buildings and plopped in the center of one of the world's greatest cities. I'm sure it could be mine for, maybe, a bajillion pounds.

Dang, I thought I shot this photo near Trafalgar Square, but Julie disagrees, and I've yet to Google my way to clarity. Apologies: There is some research to be done before this becomes a proper caption.

So this is London! Street after street, intersection after intersection, lovely buildings pop like dandelions in the spring. Despite my modernist bent, I couldn't get enough of buildings like the ones shown here.

See what I mean? Gorgeous buildings like this are everywhere in London. Imagine the views from the inside this place at roof-line level. It's all windows! Particularly elegant windows! It's another Peter dream home (if Peter had a bajillion pounds).

Here's an above-ground tube station full of museum goers and sandwich eaters.
