Amongst the adobe homes, were the occasional brick buildings. These generally had pitched roofs, not flat roofs like the classic adobe structures.

Here, a shaded lower porch seemed well suited to daytime use. The open upper porch likely is most comfortable in the evenings.

This home's yard is like a private desert park with a magnificent array of well-tended cacti.

Lovely! Classic adobe walls, Spanish flourishes, a tiled roof and spectacular desert plants all gel to make this home a mini masterpiece.

This home deploys all of the great features of the previous home and the addition of massive agave plants in the front yard.

Here's a place that needs some love and I hope it gets it. Lit up as it is, it is striking despite its condition. — Peter
