Beginning on October 5, 2025 Julie and I vacationed for nine days in England. Our time was spent in London, aside from a few days in Newark, where we attended an antique fair, and a day trip to Brighton, to be by the sea. Six days is barely enough time to scratch the surface of a city like London. Given more time, I might have spent six days at the Victoria and Albert Museum alone. That, too, would have been barely enough time to absorb the truly astonishing collections at the V&A. Since our time was brief, Julie and I considered this a reconnaissance trip. And recon we did, soaking up the pubs, the markets, the shops, the parks, the architecture, and seeing a few of Julie’s old friends from the time when she was a Londoner herself. We will certainly return to London since it is so magnificent, and since we still have a few quid left on our “oyster” cards — waste not, want not. To see some highlights of our trip, poke around this collection of photos. — Peter
